This project is one of the ones I’m most proud of, and for good reason! When Mr. Sean approached me to design the Situational Lessons Book for MLI in Los Angeles, I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous. Sure, I had worked on print materials like magazines, but designing an English lesson book for beginners? That was a whole new level. As a non-native speaker, the challenge was huge—but so was the opportunity.

I still remember arriving in LA with what I thought was “amazing” English (spoiler: it wasn’t 😅), and just two and a half years later, I was designing a book to help students learn the language. This project truly opened my eyes to the dynamics between what teachers aim to communicate and what students need to receive. It wasn’t just about design; it was about ensuring the lessons were clear and engaging for beginners—plus, I mastered a ton of InDesign skills along the way!

Despite the tough deadlines (of course), working on this project with Mr. Ken Estep was an absolute blast. It was challenging but incredibly rewarding—those two editions were definitely moments I’ll never forget.

Below, you’ll find other materials I designed for MLI, including brochures, gazettes, folders, and more .
